Why won't my bunny eat his pellets?

Postby bevan » Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:22 am

Vapor Couture
I just bought a 3 month old Dwarf bunny and he won't seem to eat his pellets. I gave him some orange and he ate it quick. But when i try to make him eat his pellets, he just refuses and goes to the corner.

I really need help because my bunny isn't getting the nutrition he needs!

for now just give your rabbit, rabbit pellet and hay for a few weeks.then start giving him treat small amount of fruit and vegetable.fruit and vegetable should only make up 10 percent of your rabbits diet.
look up what kind of fruit and vegetable a rabbit can have.did you ask the person or pet store they were feed him. if it was me i would not give fruit and vegetable to a rabbit under 6 months of age.

are you using the same food your bunny has always had if not you have to wean them slowly onto the food you want to give them from the food they were on.

Don't worry, just wait it out he will eventually come around. Make sure you are feeding him primarily hay, bottom line. Hay is what your rabbit wants to eat and it should be plentiful for him at all times. Hay and pellets, don't give him veggies and fruits until he is eating his hay and pellets properly! The fruits and veggies will make him sick without eating hay.
