Hi there,

I had a baby in May and I'm due to lose the baby weight. I have completely lost my figure. I'm a 24 year old 5'3 and before the pregnancy I was a fit 120lbs. Having a baby has done a world of hurt to my figure and my eating habits, as well as my exercising. None of it is in right state at the moment and I've stayed at 200lbs since she was a month old. I need to get on going and get fit so that I can teach her the right habits.

I need to lose 80 pounds, it seems like an insurmountable task. Is it possible to reach this in a year? I would like to be in a good shape by next Christmas. We don't much have the resources to join a gym unfortunately, so I hope for some decent advice!

I have been doing Weight Watchers Online for a year and I've lost 76 pounds - you can do it too! Weight Watchers is a great program because you don't have to eat just carrot sticks and water - I love it. Ignore all the losers that tell you you can't eat carbs 'cause you'll never lose weight, it's just not true.

you can lose 80lbs safely and properly in about 36-40 weeks.
do basic cardio for 45 minutes every single day.
keep carbs below 3grams per pound per day
keep protein at or about 130 grams per day.

You will probably lose an average of 2 pounds per week (fast weight loss at the beginning then slowing down) so 40 weeks.

45 min a day of cardio is really a lot of work. It works but I think that's an extreme.
I've lost 5 lb a week when
* I exercised 3-4 times a week (3 miles fast walk and jogging 1/3 the way) for 45m.
* Fruit, vegetables, and low-fat meat. Cut way down on bread and starch.
* No food after 7pm except a few baby carrots or celery.

Instead of keeping track of calories and writing a list and such, the real indicator that you are loosing weight is to be hungry for 2 hours a day! That's when you body is getting the message to burn the fat. When you feel that, "man I just want to eat anything", stay in that mode for 2 hours.
